History

HERVÉ BAUME, AN ANTIQUES DEALER AND COLLECTOR…

At heart, the antiques trade is a series of encounters and objects. That is the path that brought Hervé Baume from Paris to Avignon. A defining trajectory from the City of Light to the City of the Popes, opening the way to a new chapter.

After opening his antiques shop in 1973, and driven by his passion for 19th-century garden furniture, Hervé Baume embarked on the creation of his first piece: the Ville-d’Avray – HB1 armchair, which would, over time, become his signature design.

While Hervé Baume has established its place within the wider world of decoration, preserving its distinctive identity remains paramount. A discreet signature that allows the Maison and its workshops to work at their own pace. Today, the Maison continues to develop prototypes for its garden furniture, while preserving the intuitive spirit of antique collecting that has guided Hervé Baume from the very beginning.

For more than fifty years, Maison Hervé Baume has been a benchmark in the field. A quietly established brand, yet one that is universally recognised for the quality of its wrought-iron creations.
